قال ابن عطاء الله السكندري «ما قادك شيء مثل الوهم» لأن الإنسان يوهم نفسه ، ويرضى عن أفعاله دوما حتى ولو كانت خاطئة، أما الصوفي فيحاول أن يحاسـب ولهذا نجد في القرآن الكريم و قل هل نلتم بالأخسرين أعمالا (19) الذين ضل سعيهم في الحيوة الدنيا وهم يحسبون أنهم يحسنون صنعا * [الكهـف: 103، 104]. ولذلك نجد أن الغزالي صادق جدا مع نفسـه، وقد ذكر هذا قائلا أنا علمت، وعرفت العلم، ولم أستطع أن أعمـل. هذا بالطبع لأن الإنسـان ما زال يحب الدنيـا، ويريد أن يرتدى أفضل الملابس، ويتعامل مع النـاس، ويرغب في التقدير وسمـاع كلام الإطراء كلما قام بالتدريس. صدق الغزالي مع نفسـه عندما قـال إنه احب الجاه والإطراء والتفاف الناس حوله، ولكنها أشياء لم تعطه السعادة التي يتمناها. وازداد حزنه وتعبه. وفي كل مرة يشعر بالتعب يدعو الله أن يقدره على ترك كل الأشياء السابقة، أي علائق الدنيا. الصراع النفسي الذي عانى منه الغزالي عبر عنه بصدق، وهو يقول «فصارت شهوات الدنيا تجاذبنـي بسلاسلها»(۲)شبه حب الدنيـا بالقيد، والسفر بعيدا عنها بالحرية. هذا التشبيه سيتكرر في جميع المقالات. الحرية تعطي السعادة، والتعلق بالأشياء سجن للروح. استمر صراع الغزالي ستة أشهر. قال بصدق إن هناك فرقا بين أن تعرف الزهد، وأن تكون من الزاهدين. ثم يقول الغزالي «ثم لما أحسست بعجزي، وسقط بالكلية اختياري، التجأت إلى الله تعـالى التجاء المضطر الذي لا حيلة له، فأجابني الذي يجيب المضطر إذا دعاه ، وسهل على قلبي الإعراض عن الجاه والمال».(۳)

In life, every person or material property we own has its own paths and plays its roles professionally. If you try to keep any person in your life or any material property you own for more than the time it is destined to stay with you, you will face the same cosmic force against you and you will suffer a lot. Just accept the entry of these things into your life. Your life and let it play its roles and fulfill the messages it came for, and when it is time for it to leave, let it go in peace and surrender with love as a vessel. Then you will have believed in divine justice and that God created this universe and everything in it with a precise order, so do not be an obstacle in it, but rather be smooth and flow with its course.

There is another concept related to it called echo chambers, which refers to the situation in which ideas are amplified and reinforced through repetition, resulting in a rigid belief in those ideas and a lack of trust in anything coming from outside them.
